Volunteer Vacancies

We currently have a number of areas that have the opportunity for you to get involved and volunteer at Via. Have a read below and see if there are areas you could serve!

HOSPITALITY TEAM  We are so excited to be building our new hospitality team! Do you love to make people feel at home and welcome? Do you love having conversation and hearing people’s stories? Do you love to be helpful and give information? Do you get excited about partnering with what Jesus is doing in our city? This is an incredible opportunity to serve at Via, meeting and welcoming people, having conversations, and providing information and guidance. The reality is, we need lots of people to launch this exciting venture. We need greeters, info desk volunteers , and hospitality hosts. Interested in getting involved? We would love to hear from you.

Time commitment: Once / month (or more if you choose!). Sunday mornings 9.15am – end of service.

GARDENERS 

Do you love growing things? Adopt one of our new raised beds in the Via Garden to keep it weeded and well maintained, and help be a part of growing fresh produce to help feed families in need in our community! And you get to soak up some sunshine in the process! Win win!  We have 2 beds that still need people to care for them.

Time Commitment: Variable....roughly an hour or so a week

MEDIA

We are in need of at least one person to join our Media team, working closely with the Worship Department and our Administrator to run our media on a Sunday morning. A passion for serving the congregation in worship, familiarity with our worship songs, as well as confidence using a computer and problem solving are all great assets for this role.

Time commitment: Once / month. Sunday morning 9.30am – end of service. Wednesday evening worship practice 7pm onwards, if possible.

SOUND 

Do you have experience running sound? Would you like to be trained to run sound for our services and events here at Via? We are in need of sound techs in training! Work closely with our worship teams and serve our congregation in this vital area on a Sunday morning.

Time commitment: Once / month. Wednesday evening worship practice 7pm Sunday morning. 9am – end of service.

PRESCHOOL 

Our preschool area is in need of lots of volunteers to cover our summer program! This is such a vital area in our church life and ministry, where we have the opportunity to love and serve our kids on a Sunday morning.

Time commitment: Once / month (or more!). Sunday morning 9.30am – end of service.

HOUSEKEEPING 

Summer is great time around here to get some housekeeping done. If clearing out closets and organizing makes your heart sing, or giving a kitchen a deep clean is something you love (or let’s be honest, you’d just be willing to do to serve…. does anyone love scrubbing a kitchen?) we’d love to hear from you! We’d love to set one afternoon aside per week for a team to join us in getting some projects done.

Time commitment: As much or as little as you have to offer.

VIA CAMPS

Our City and Wilderness camps are in needs of both staff and volunteers to run this summer! A huge variety of roles are available. Download Via Camp Staff Application forms below, or pick them up from the Info Desk on Sunday mornings.

Time commitment: Variable from a few hours a day to a whole week, depending on camp and role.
